In this adventure, during a battle between him and some Iblis monsters while trying to save Sonic, it seems the Echidnas have a connection to Iblis to a point where Knuckles absorbs fire itself, and pretty much invulrenable against it!!!!! Now he can do exactly what Knuckles in the movies does with his flaming fists to stop save his friends.
