Eggman needed help on destroying Sonic, and he hired the Babylon Rogues to do so. But after their humiliating defeat by Sonic, he became infuriated that it only took Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles to take them down. So, he fired the Rogues, not knowing of a time portal sucked the four in. Once he saw Silver or Blaze, he knew that maybe the Rogues could be useful after all.
