The Tower family supported Gerald's idea to have Maria on the ARK. Abe grew up visiting the ARK until Maria died, who was like an older sister to him. When he joined G.U.N., he was lied to about Maria's death by G.U.N., saying that Shadow was responsible when it was actually G.U.N. For 50 years, he blamed Shadow until the events of Enter Shadow where he discovered the truth. Now as commander of G.U.N., he plans to fix their mistakes and change the agency from being the monsters they used to be.
