The world is on fire. It has been for many many years... but the fire never burns out. It only grows stronger as the fuel is dumped into the flames. Humanity has grown far more technologically advanced as A.I. and android robots become a normal part of human culture.
But what weighs on every person's mind is how long until they are set back? How long before the past comes back to destroy them? How long before nature swallows mankind whole... Kaiju attacks have become more and more common as human activity awakens them and forces them to the surface of the planet. Like worms rising from the dirt during rain, the Kaiju continue to appear on the surface and attack cities in an attempt to fight the infection that is attacking their planet. This planet was never ours... ancient species owned this planet long before mankind, and if we keep our heads buried in the sand they will take it back.
