The Baron was once a minor noble in Melancholia, a man whose ambition far outweighed his talents. While the land was still fertile and its farmers thrived, he built his career on empty promises and self-promotion, taking credit for other men’s work while pocketing money from the common folk. When the mysterious storm clouds appeared and the harvests failed, the Baron was the first to abandon his people’s needs. Instead of seeking to save the land, he struck a deal with Dracula, offering him Frankenstein’s Castle in exchange for power, wealth, and protection. That single act sealed Melancholia’s fate. While farmers starved and monsters took over the streets, the Baron ascended to become Dracula’s political mouthpiece — the “face” of local authority.
