First appeared in Superman Vol. 2 #60 and was created by Dan Jurgens. Benjamin Lockwood was in the US Army Special Forces and CIA before being abandoned by the latter organization during a mission and forming the paramilitary group the Sons of Liberty, as Agent Liberty.
