Ugochukwu (born: 1876), commonly known by his adoptive name Toussaint De la Croix was a Kongo-born Master Assassin of the Belgian Brotherhood in Brussels during the period of the Scramble for Africa and Leopold II's reign as King of the Belgians, Leopold II is also the Grand Master from the Belgian Rite of the Templar Order when he sends one of his Templar allies to purge Ugochukwu's village including his own family by the Force Publique where he was born between the borders of Portuguese Angola and the Kingdom of the Congo before the Templars led by Leopold II had established his International Association of the Congo in 1879 and has named the Congo Free State in 1885 where Otto Von Bismarck and other Templars had drawn the African continent for Britain, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium and Portugal as part of European colonial powers. Ugochukwu, a legendary Assassin who swore that the blood of the Congo would never belong to the Templars. His lineage survived the horrors of the colony, the Belgian administration, and the decades of chaos that followed, where his legacy culminated to a girl born in 1972, a year after the dictator Mobutu Sese Seko seized absolute cultural control, renaming the nation Zaire and forcing all citizens to strip away their European names. Her chosen, authentic name was Zakilya. She was a child of the African Assassin Brotherhood, her veins of her ancestor with Ugochukwu’s lethal grace. By 1994, the world was shifting. As the horrific Rwandan Genocide sent shockwaves across the continent, Zakilya now a highly trained Assassin operative was sent on a clandestine journey southward. There, she witnessed the endgame of another brutal Templar experiment in South Africa. The Apartheid regime, orchestrated by the White Templars led by F.W. de Klerk and enforced by the ruthless Security Branch, was attempting to burn the nation to the ground rather than cede control to the black majority. Standing against them was Oswald Bangizwe, a legendary South African Assassin. Zakilya watched as Bangizwe operated in the deepest shadows of the struggle. He had infiltrated the inner circle of Nelson Mandela. Recognizing Mandela’s immense spirit, Bangizwe revealed the existence of the Brotherhood and the secret history of the Templar control. He convinced Mandela to align with the Assassins' ideals of true free will, urging him to secure a powerful Piece of Eden hidden deep within the country, a relic the Templars wanted to use to mind-control the populace. Mandela agreed, keeping the relic out of Templar hands. On 27 April 1994, South Africa held its first fully democratic general election. Bangizwe and his cell guarded the polling stations from Templar-backed sabotage, casting their historic votes of the African National Congress (ANC) had won in a landslide victory, and Freedom Day was born. Mandela became president, fracturing the Templar grip on the Cape. Inspired by Bangizwe’s triumph, Zakilya returned north. Zaire was rotting under Mobutu’s corrupt, Templar-funded rule. Utilizing the networks left behind by Ugochukwu, Zakilya embedded herself as a shadow advisor to Laurent-Désiré Kabila and his rebel coalition, the AFDL. She negotiated a secret pact with Kabila, training his vanguard and providing tactical intelligence to dismantle Mobutu’s iron grip. As the rebels swept across the country during the First Congo War, Zakilya systematically assassinated Mobutu’s Templar handlers. On 17 May 1997, the AFDL reached the gates of Kinshasa. Mobutu, broken and deserted by his masters, fled into exile, where he died later that year. True to his promise to Zakilya, Kabila stripped away the dictator’s branding and renamed the nation back to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). With the DRC liberated from Mobutu, Zakilya’s mission took a radical, poetic turn. The African Assassin Council recognized that to truly protect the legacy of 30 June 1960, the day the Congo originally won independence from Belgium, the Brotherhood needed a dagger planted firmly in the heart of the former colonial beast. Zakilya was sent to Brussels, the former colonial power to ensure a safely integrate into the European theater, the high-ranking Assassin leaders granted her full freedom and a new identity. They christened her Marianne Donnadieu. Living out the rest of her days as a native Belgian citizen in Brussels, Marianne became the ultimate sleeper agent. By day, she walked the cobblestone streets built on the blood money of Leopold II. By night, she mentored a new generation of Euro-African Assassins, ensuring that the legacy of Ugochukwu, Bangizwe, and the freedom of the Congo would remain forever guarded against the Templar elite like Leopold II, King of the Belgians.
