Directed by Robert Eggers from a screenplay by David Twohy and Adam Wingard, and narrated by Vin Diesel, the film stars an ensemble cast including Jeff Bridges, Cara Delevingne, Zac Efron, Evan Rachel Wood, Henry Cavill, Christian Bale, Amber Midthunder, Luke Evans, Charlie Hunnam, Brie Larson, Neve Campbell, Stephen Lang, Danny Glover, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the film, a young female warrior approaches the harbinger of the Companions to join them while also falling for one of their leaders; after passing all three trials, she transforms into a werewolf with the help of her team members. Many have questioned Eggers' vision for the film, as he is renowned for directing horror and thriller films. Upon its release in February 24th, 2025, the film surprised critics and fans, who praised its visual effects, costumes, writing, score, action sequences, direction, performances (namely Delevingne, Bridges, and Wood), themes and emotional weight, and was a massive success at the box-office, grossing $846.9 million worldwide. A sequel is currently in production.
