Cristela Alonzo is an American stand-up comedian, actress, writer and producer, who created and starred in the ABC sitcom Cristela. She is the first Mexican American woman to create, produce, write, and star in her own US network show.
The story follows a 12-year old boy named Miguel who is accidentally transported into the Land of the Dead. He seeks help from a famed musician, Ernesto de la Cruz, to reverse the curse and his family's ban on music. But with the help of a charismatic con-artist named Hector, Miguel learns that there's more to life than music.
