Torrance Shipman is a fictional character and the main protagonist from the 2000 teen drama comedy sports film Bring It On. She is a senior at Rancho Carne High School and is the new cheer captain for the school's cheerleading squad. Torrance aims to bring her school's squad, the Toros in for a sixth consecutive national title, but later finds out her predecessor known as "Big Red" has been video recording the cheer routines of the East Compton Clovers cheerleaders in Los Angeles via plagiarism, making her realize that her squad needs to work on making an original routine of their own, which the squad is reluctant to do at first.
She eventually takes inspiration from Cliff Pantone, a new friend and her eventual new boyfriend where she listens to some music in mixtapes he made, finding new routines that they use for their own instead of plagiarized ones, which eventually earns them second place at the national competition while the Clovers win first place.
