Once a beloved princess of the Greek city of Argos, Danae became a lover of Zeus who bore him Perseus. For this disgrace, her father casts her into the seas where she is found by the fisherman Dictys whom she marries and bears a daughter. All of her life on Seriphos she proves herself a devoted follower and worshiper of the Olympians. Those she revers…may not be there when she will have much need for them… in the meantime. She has her son and daughter.
