The story is set in 1946. The main character is Cara Brennan, the daughter of Irish immigrants who moved to the US fleeing the Irish Civil War that broke out in 1922. Cara was just 3 years old when she moved with her parents. During her stay in the US, she became interested in acting and as soon as she turned 20 decided to become an actress. She adopted the Hollywood nickname "Clarice Moon"( When she was a child, she and her parents always loved to watch the moon) and began applying for film roles. Unfortunately, because of her strong Irish accent, many directors said they would not hire her because the audience might not understand what she was saying, making it impossible for other actors and directors to work with her. After many unsuccessful attempts to get into any film, she comes across a film director named Conor Bell who, like her, is an immigrant from Ireland. After spending time talking, he decides to make Clarice his film muse. After some time, a great love develops between them.
