Maxim Baldry (also known as Max Baldry) is an English actor. As a child he played Stepan in the 2007 comedy film Mr. Bean's Holiday, before moving on to roles in Rome and Skins. More recently, he has been seen in Russell T Davies' BBC drama series Years and Years. Baldry lived in Moscow, Russia for the first seven years of his life where he then moved back to his native England in 2003. He became interested in acting from a very young age, and was involved in many independent stage productions one of which was Peter and the Wolf performing in the V&A before joining Jackie Palmer Stage School in 2005. His parents are Simon and Karina Baldry.

The story follows Circe, the daughter of the sun god Helios and the nymph Perse, who is born with a powerful gift of witchcraft. However, she is not as beautiful or captivating as her siblings, and she soon discovers her ability to transform others into monsters. When she uses her powers on a mortal, it leads to her banishment to the island of Aiaia by Zeus. Isolated on the island, Circe hones her magical skills and interacts with various mythological figures, including the Minotaur, Daedalus, and Odysseus. Throughout her exile, Circe grapples with her identity, her relationships with gods and mortals, and her desire for companionship. The narrative explores themes of power, love, and self-discovery.
