Alexandra Selene Westermere is the Princess of Baelost, the first born daughter of King Alexander, however she is looked over in her inheritance for her younger brother Edmund. Instead she is sent abroad to the Kingdom of Adreor to seal an alliance with their Royal House, and King Anarius Apatrea. Whilst there she is swept up in a conspiracy to crown a new Rose King (Grandmaster of the Magical Order of Passion, and Leader of the Cult of Passion) by the claiming of the Rose Kings sword, Ardor. Selene sees the claiming of this sword as her legitimacy to claiming her rightful inheritance as the heir of Baelost.
