Kotaro is an F-14 pilot attached to the "Black Lions" of Navy Fighter Squadron (VF-213). He was born in Nagasawa, Yamato Kingdom, the son (and only child) of two flying officers in the Yamato Kingdom Air Self-Defense Force (YKASDF). Following the death of his mother Chiyomi from leukemia and disappearance of his father Kenzo during a secret combat mission, he was raised by an uncle and aunt at Sherman Grove, Califa. He initially served as an enlisted aircraft mechanic and worked on S-3 Vikings before earning his commission through Navy ROTC. He is a graduate of the University of Califa Los Arcangeles (UCLA - B.F.A. Digital Design and Media Arts).
