Josette DuPres is a character from the American gothic soap opera Dark Shadows (1966-1971). Originally engaged to Barnabas Collins, she instead married his uncle, Jeremiah Collins, after the two were victims of a love spell. Enraged, Barnabas challenged Jeremiah to a duel, fatally wounding him and leaving the new bride a widow. She eventually jumped to her death from Widow's Hill, wanting to escape from Barnabas, who planned to turn her into a vampire.
