Helen Backshall (née Glover) is a British double Olympic champion rower, best known for winning gold medals in the women's pair at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics with Heather Stanning. After retiring to have three children, she made a historic comeback to competition, becoming the first mother to represent the GB Rowing Team at an Olympics (Tokyo 2020) and winning a silver medal in the women's four at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Helen is married to naturalist, explorer and wildlife TV presenter Steve Backshall.
