Photon uses her powers to finish fixing the warp core and the heroes retreat to space, Nova managing to escape Shatterax and bringing Jimmy onboard. Korath contacts Yon-Rogg and tells him the heroes got away and that the Nova Helmet has found a new bearer. Infuriated, Yon-Rogg comes up with a plan to get Carol to surrender. As the team recovers, Photon experiments with her new abilities to heal Jimmy. While that goes on, Captain Marvel attempts to give Nova a pep talk to help with his insecurities. She tells him that failure doesn’t define oneself and what matters is how you learn from them. She also tries to confide in Richard one of her own failures, in this case being manipulated and used by the Kree in their war
