Captain Carol Danvers is one of the U.S. Air Force's most talented fighter pilots, but her arrogance and relentless need to prove herself lead to a disastrous mission that costs her the career she loves. Offered a second chance as a security officer aboard a S.W.O.R.D. orbital research station, Carol becomes caught in a Skrull attack on an experimental faster-than-light engine created by the mysterious Dr. Walter Lawson, who is secretly the Kree warrior Mar-Vell. When the engine explodes, Carol is infused with Space Stone energy and transformed into a powerful human-Kree hybrid. Traveling to the Kree homeworld of Hala, she joins the elite Starforce and embraces her incredible new abilities, believing that power is finally the proof of her worth she has always sought. But as she uncovers the truth behind the Kree Empire's oppression and the Supreme Intelligence's manipulation of the centuries-long Kree-Skrull War, Carol begins to question everything she thought she knew. Carol's journey becomes deeply personal when she learns that Mar-Vell secretly fathered a son, Dorrek, with the Skrull Anelle—a child whose existence threatens both civilizations by proving that their hatred is built on lies. As the Kree and Skrulls race to seize the boy, Carol is forced to confront the emotional scars left by her abusive father and realize that true strength is not measured by power or victory, but by protecting those who cannot protect themselves. Rejecting her role as a weapon, she ends the Supreme Intelligence's reign, saves Dorrek, and inspires both sides to pursue peace instead of endless war. Embracing the mantle of Captain Marvel, Carol leaves Earth once more to become a guardian of the galaxy, dedicating her life to defending worlds that have no heroes of their own.
