As a symbol of freedom, Steve leads the Invaders, an elite squad composed of his friend Bucky Barnes, Agent Peggy Carter, the mutant Logan, and the strategist Nick Fury. Their mission is to stop HYDRA, the Nazi scientific branch led by Red Skull and Arnim Zola, who are developing a weapon of mass destruction powered by an unknown energy source. After epic battles from Africa to Bavaria, Steve makes a heroic decision: to sacrifice himself by crashing a bomb-laden plane into the Arctic to save millions. His disappearance marks the end of an era and the beginning of a myth that will lie dormant beneath the ice for decades.
