When an assauly on an abandoned HYDRA facility brings him face-to-face with the mysterious mercenary known as Taskmaster, Steve discovers the villain has stolen classified files detailing Wakanda's vibranium reserves. Despite defeating Taskmaster in combat, Steve is caught off guard as his opponent adapts to his every move, escaping with the stolen intelligence. Fearing Wakanda has become Taskmaster's next target, Captain America journeys to the hidden African nation, where he is welcomed by King T'Challa and Princess Ororo. Bound together by the legacy Steve left on T'Challa's grandfather during World War II, the Wakandan king offers to restore Captain America's legendary shield. During the repairs, a startling discovery is made: the iconic shield is not forged from pure vibranium, but from a rare vibranium-adamantium alloy, making it even more extraordinary than anyone realized. As Taskmaster launches his attempt to infiltrate Wakanda, Captain America, Black Panther, and Storm stand together to defend the nation's greatest secrets. Against the combined might of three legendary heroes, Taskmaster finally meets an opponent he cannot outmatch. But just as Steve begins to find a new sense of purpose, an urgent call from the Avengers changes everything. Answering the call, Captain America sets out once again - joined by a new ally whose family's debt of honor is far from repaid.
