When an assauly on an abandoned HYDRA facility brings him face-to-face with the mysterious mercenary known as Taskmaster, Steve discovers the villain has stolen classified files detailing Wakanda's vibranium reserves. Despite defeating Taskmaster in combat, Steve is caught off guard as his opponent adapts to his every move, escaping with the stolen intelligence.
Fearing Wakanda has become Taskmaster's next target, Captain America journeys to the hidden African nation, where he is welcomed by King T'Challa and Princess Ororo. Bound together by the legacy Steve left on T'Challa's grandfather during World War II, the Wakandan king offers to restore Captain America's legendary shield.
