David Ayer (born January 18, 1968) is an American filmmaker known for making crime films that are set in Los Angeles and deal with gangs and police corruption. His screenplays include Training Day (2001), The Fast and the Furious (2001), and S.W.A.T. (2003). He has also directed Harsh Times (2005), Street Kings (2008), End of Watch (2012), Sabotage (2014), and The Beekeeper (2024). In 2016, he directed the superhero movie Suicide Squad from the DC Extended Universe and then the urban fantasy film Bright (2017) for Netflix. He has twice collaborated with actor Shia LaBeouf: first with the World War II drama Fury (2014), then the crime thriller The Tax Collector (2020). He has also collaborated with his friend Cle Shaheed Sloan, who has appeared in four of his films. Synopsis: The year is 1939, and America is in desperate need of new troops in the war against the Nazis. Steve Roger's dream has always been to join the military, but due to his poor bone structure he is unable to enter. His good friend James "Bucky" Barnes has tried everything he can to get him in, but he does not succeed in getting him into the military. Desperate, he participates in the test on Howard Stark's ‘super soldier serum', which should be able to make one a living super soldier. The experiment works, and he is now buff and agile enough to take part in the war. He fights alongside Bucky Barnes, James Howlett, Victor Creed, Peggy Carter and many others. While the war is going on, Steve and Peggy manage to get feelings for each other One day, Steve and the other soldiers manage to infiltrate one of the Nazi top bases. There they encounter the Nazi leader Red Skull and his assistant Arnim Zola. They fight the Nazis, and Bucky has to sacrifice himself for the others to survive. Steve defeats Red Skull, but Zola manages to escape. They return to their base to celebrate their victory, but Steve mourns Bucky. After a couple of weeks, Steve faints from bad blood pressure, he got from the supersoldier serum. Peggy decides that it is best to freeze him in ice so that his blood pressure will return to normal. Post Credit Scene: 70 years after the war, Steve is melted down by Nick Fury. Fury offers him to join his 'superhero team' by name, 'the Avengers'.
