The plot of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare follows Private Jack Mitchell, who joins the U.S. Marine Corps with his best friend, Will Irons. During an invasion of Seoul, Will is killed, and Mitchell loses his arm. Mitchell is then recruited by Jonathan Irons, the head of the powerful private military company Atlas Corporation, who gives him a prosthetic arm and an exoskeleton. He works for Atlas, carrying out missions around the globe, but eventually discovers Irons's plan to use a global weapon to take over the world, leading Mitchell to turn against him.
