Mateo, a former burglar who stole an ancient artifact that resembled a serpent, which he did not know is a cursed object that belongs to the First Black Cobra warrior's arch nemesis, the Emerald Viper who belongs to an oppressive tribe that fought Black Cobra's during ancient times. As Mateo stashes the object, a spirit of the Emerald Viper bestows his armour to him only for Mateo to become the next Emerald Viper despite not being inherited by blood and swears to avenge the first Viper by hunting down anyone of the Black Cobra (He is a villain only because he wants to fight Black Cobra (Kwame Kanumba)
