Haley Lu Richardson (born March 7, 1995) is an American actress. Following early television roles on the Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up (2013) and the ABC Family supernatural drama Ravenswood (2013–2014), she received recognition for her roles in the critically acclaimed coming-of-age film The Edge of Seventeen (2016) and the psychological horror film Split (2016). She went on to garner a nomination for the Gotham Independent Film Award for Best Actress for her breakthrough role in Columbus (2017), and earned critical praise for her roles as Maci in Support the Girls (2018) and Stella Grant in Five Feet Apart (2019).
Nora Stephens’ life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby. Which is why she agrees to go to Sunshine Falls, North Carolina for the month of August when Libby begs her for a sisters’ trip away—with visions of a small-town transformation for Nora, who she’s convinced needs to become the heroine in her own story.
