(Age: 12) Unlike the rest of the press, Cassie knows Sonic is no Phantom Rider, nor would he continue to be the Phantom Rider. She didn't want to believe it, but the Phantom Rider had not shown his face since Sonic was arrested, which would give everybody else the proof that Sonic really was the "new" Phantom Rider. Cassie, whether she's a professional reporter or not, is the only one in the journalism business to believe that Sonic is not the Phantom Rider.
