After the events of Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes has become the protector of Palmera City. A beacon of hope to some, a symbol of dangerous metahuman potential to others. No longer a fresh college graduate, Jaime works in community outreach by day, and fights to stabilize a city boiling over with tension by night. But the scarab is changing. Khaji-Da, once a voice of logic and precision, is evolving and developing new instincts, questions, and a personality distinct from its original programming. It’s becoming more sentient… and more unpredictable. The line between partner and power is blurring fast. When the Posse, a group of magically gifted outcasts, begin causing havoc in Palmera City, tensions erupt between the authorities and the city’s growing metahuman underground. At the heart of the chaos is Amparo Cardenas, the elusive crime lord and urban legend known as La Dama, who manipulates the Posse from the shadows to expand her influence and challenge Jaime’s claim to the city.
