Twelfth film in my Batman, Green Arrow, and Blue Beetle cinematic universe! This film’s plot goes as follows: One of Ted Kord’s old enemies, Catalyst, escapes from prison and starts his drug cartel up again, causing a massive drug problem in Jaime’s community. Jaime wants to take him down, but Ted doesn’t want him to fight Catalyst, as he believes it will be too dangerous, which turns out to be true when his friend, Paco, is stabbed by Catalyst, and Jaime has to force The Scarab to heal him. However, this has unintended consequences, as the healing system accidentally creates another Scarab, which takes over Paco’s body, turning him into The Dark Beetle! Jaime is forced to fight not only Catalyst, but his best friend as well! One of the end-credits scenes shows Dark Beetle being recruited into a team of villains by Merlyn and Deathstroke, which is a set-up for the final film of phase 2.
