When a mysterious signal leads him to believe that Ted Kord—the missing second Blue Beetle—is still alive, Jaime embarks on a dangerous mission to uncover the truth. His search draws him into conflict with the Black Beetle, a brutal and enigmatic villain wielding a corrupted version of the scarab's power and determined to erase the Blue Beetle legacy. As Jaime uncovers layers of conspiracy tied to alien tech, temporal manipulation, and secret histories, he must fight not only to save Ted but to prevent a future no one is prepared for. What little he does remember is chilling: he wasn’t alone when he vanished... he was with Booster Gold and rip hunter, investigating something far bigger than they could contain. As the Black Beetle escapes with a cryptic warning—“This is bigger than any of you could imagine”—Jaime and Ted realize this was only the beginning.
