Born on March 2, 1969, in Leningrad, Mikhail Porechenkov is a prominent Russian actor, director, and producer who became a household name as the "Russian James Bond" through his role as FSB agent Alexey Nikolayev in the TV series National Security Agent (1999–2005). After studying at a military-political school and later graduating from the Saint Petersburg State Institute of Performing Arts, he built a reputation for portraying "tough guy" characters and military officers in major productions like The 9th Company (2005), Liquidation (2007), and the biopic Iron Ivan (2014), where he played legendary wrestler Ivan Poddubny.
