Once a popular student at school and a star athlete, Kai quits playing baseball shortly before Saya's arrival and has been getting into more fights at school, becoming a high school bad boy as a result and cannot proceed to the 3rd grade due to his decreasing academic performances. Deep down, he loves his family and wants to keep them together even if they're not related by blood.
