Pipazzio, the main character, a young adult who is pushed to join the Cologne mafia, to solve his family's financial shortcomings, however this will only lead to his imminent end, as his moralistic, submissive and lawful spirit makes him out of tune with the type of people who dominate the mafia. Pipo was always an introvert, loaded with various fears and inheritor of part of his father's vision, a very positivist and idealistic worldview that made him believe that being gentile towards others would fix every aspect of his life and make him agreablee and desirable for everyone.
