Yelena Belova was many things in her past. A sister, a daughter, a spy, an assassin, a villain, a hero. Now, after a crusade to free her fellow Black Widows and her encounters with the Hawkeyes, she settles down. Her time off is cut short after a knock on her cabin door. She opens it to find Antonia Dreykov, injured and fearful. Before they can even talk about what happened, gunshots erupt from the nearby forest. After a few moments, the gunfire stops, and figures emerge from the woods. To her horror, Yelena watches as a group of Taskmasters walk to her. Suddenly, a helicopter arrives and fires on the soldiers, forcing them to take cover. After loading Antonia on, Yelena is greeted by Alexei Shostakov and Melina Vostokoff, her adoptive parents. Soon, she is thrown into a deadly battle against the remnants of the Taskmaster program.
