Black Widow is a 2010 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the character of the same name. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures. It is the fifth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Sam Mendes and written by David S Goyer. Scarlett Johansson stars as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow alongside Jeremy Renner, Stephen Lang, Cobie Smulders, Clark Gregg, Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Nick Blood, Ray Winstone, Adrianne Palicki, Rachel Weisz and Charlie Hunnam. The film shows Black Widow on the run from the Red Room and S.H.I.E.L.D as she tries to hunt down the mercenary known as Taskmaster.
