Larry is a hot party guy who loves to drink and says what whatever is on his mind, even if it may hurt someone's feelings. One might say his excessive drinking may be an excuse to hide that he's a sad person and maybe not have many people to care for him. One hint is when Larry states that Melvin Kitt is a "better brother than his own brother" to him. Melvin then replies back by saying "Dick Chaney is a better brother to you than your own brother." Another example is during an argument with Hendrix when Larry taunts him about "running home to mommy" Hendrix retorts by saying "at least my family wants me to come home", thus proving that not even his own family seems to care about him.
