Before Follow that Bird there was another film proposal in which Big Bird becomes president of the United States. The film would've been a political/musical romp meant to entertain kids and adults.
There were two scripts, one involved George C. Scott as the villain planning to put the world in an arms race; the other involved a NAUGHTY group trying to make Big Bird a bad influence by constructing a robot replica of himself.
