Gwendolyn Fredericka "Gwen" Hotchkiss (formerly Winthrop) is a fictional character and the main antagonist in the later years on the NBC/DirectTV soap opera Passions. Gwendolyn Fredericka "Gwen" Hotchkiss was born in New York City on Aug. 1, 1976. She is the only child of Jonathan Hotchkiss (b. Apr 2, 1950) and Rebecca Hotchkiss (nee Osburn) (b. May 27, 1954). Gwen spent most of her life trying to prove to him that she was just as good as the son that he never had. At the age of twelve, Gwen met Ethan Crane at a mixer that their boarding schools had, and became fast friends, soon boyfriend and girlfriend. They later went on to attend Choate.
