Masamune Date is one of the main characters and one of the main protagonists in the Sengoku Basara series. He was portrayed as the energetic and fearless young ruler of the Date Clan. He was known as the "One-Eyed Dragon" (独眼竜, Dokuganryū). In Sengoku Basara Legend of Yukimura Sanada, he makes playable appearances both as his usual self, as well as his childhood counterpart, Bontenmaru.
