The synopsis of Beren and Lúthien centers around the love story of a mortal man, Beren, and an immortal elf-maiden, Lúthien, in Tolkien's First Age of Middle-earth. Their love is forbidden by Lúthien's father, King Thingol, who demands that Beren retrieve a Silmaril from Morgoth's crown before they can marry. Beren and Lúthien undertake this perilous quest together, facing numerous dangers and challenges, including encounters with Morgoth's forces and monstrous creatures. Ultimately, their love triumphs, and they achieve their goal, though their story ends in tragedy with Lúthien choosing mortality to be with Beren after his death.
