Batman's world is shattered when Talia al Ghul arrives in Gotham with Damian—the son Bruce never knew—and reveals that Ra's al Ghul is dead, murdered by Professor Hugo Strange and the mysterious Red Hood. As Bruce trains Damian to abandon his assassin upbringing and embrace Robin, the Red Hood's war on crime exposes a devastating truth: Jason Todd has returned from the dead. Bruce's mission to save Jason fractures the Bat-Family, while Black Mask makes a desperate play for power. When Batman vanishes, Dr. Simon Hurt and the Black Glove strike—unleashing the sinister Zur-En-Arrh and threatening to transform Bruce into the Bat-God Barbatos. Now Damian, Nightwing, Red Robin, Oracle, and Catwoman must unite to save their leader and Gotham itself from a war the Batman may not survive.
