Nathan Lane, born Joseph Lane on February 3, 1956, in Jersey City, New Jersey, is an acclaimed American actor known for his work on stage and screen. He has been active in the entertainment industry since 1975 and has received numerous awards, including three Tony Awards, seven Drama Desk Awards, a Laurence Olivier Award, three Emmy Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Lane made his professional theatre debut in 1978 in an off-Broadway production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream". He gained widespread recognition for his roles in Broadway productions such as "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," "The Producers," and "Angels in America". Adam and Barbara Maitland put their lives on the line to save a dog, but are tragically killed in a car accident. They pass over into the next world and find themselves the ghostly inhabitants of their former house. They soon see it invaded by an unruly and wealthy New York family who move into the property. The new family are determined to give the house a brand new urban look, much to the horror of Adam and Barbara. They decide they have to get rid of the intruders but their ghostly tricks do nothing to scare away the tough city folk. They call upon the help of a freelance human exorcist called Beetlejuice, but are his methods a little too extreme?
