Due to an accident that cost more lives than it should, Bruce thinks that the Justice League should be disbanded while Clark thinks they need to stay together and remain hopeful for the future. This leads to friction within the group, with Justice League members taking sides, and various villains coming into the fray, like the dictator Red Lion, and terrorist Maxwell Lord.
