To defend him, there is his young psychiatrist, Harleen Quinzel, who in reality went crazy under his spell and became his accomplice, having secretly given him a vial of acid. With this, he disfigures Harvey Dent, weakening him even more when he's already very overworked. Taking advantage of the panic, another new supervillain, the Riddler, takes the opportunity to set a series of deadly riddle traps across the city, with the sole aim of proving to everyone that he's better than Batman. He sends his henchman, a practically immortal super-zombie found in Slaughter Swamp and whom he has been manipulating ever since : Solomon Grundy, kidnapped Dent from the hospital to gain leverage on the Dark Knight. However, Harvey is much more dangerous, letting his other personality take charge, becoming Two-Face ! Taking advantage of this, the Joker escapes with the help of "Harley Quinn", in order to join the party. Despite the help of Robin, and the brand new "Batgirl", this fight could well be the most personal of all those of Batman, who intends to save his friend, even though he let himself fall into the abyss of madness that Gotham can be !
