Fan Casting Jeffrey Manson in Batman/Joker (Alternate Titles: Batman v Joker, Batman & Joker)

Jeffrey Manson, a young, but paranoid, mentally ill, impoverished, unemployed man who is inspired to be a party clown and stand-up comedian (as "Joel"), but is disregarded by society, whose history of abuse causes him to become a nihilistic criminal and serial killer with a clown-inspired persona, Joker, a criminal mastermind and anarchist who is determined to figure out what Batman is, by causing chaos and corruption throughout Gotham. Like Joaquin Phoenix, he is inspired by 1970s character studies and the films of Martin Scorsese, particularly Taxi Driver (1976) and The King of Comedy (1982), including Robert De Niro's characters, Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver) and Rupert Pupkin (The King of Comedy). He is also inspired by Charles Manson, an American criminal, cult leader, and musician who led the Manson Family, a cult based in California in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster, an American serial killer and offender who killed and dismembered seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991. He can be compared to Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, and Joaquin Phoenix. He is also compared to Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman, a New York City investment banker who leads a double life as a serial killer, from the 2000 horror film American Psycho, based on the 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis.
