A new drug is being peddled around Gotham called Joker Juice, which turns whoever uses it into green haired, white skinned lunatics. Led by the Impostor Joker, the Jokerz ran rampant through Gotham for three months, causing chaos. This leads to the rise of the Guardian Batz, a group of civilians dressed in batman costumes who are led by the Impostor Batman, a brutal vigilante who often kills the Jokerz savagely. It is later revealed that the architect behind this entire war is Winslow Heath, the head of a pharmaceutical company who was disfigured by the Joker during an attack, but managed to survive due to the amount of drugs in his system at the time. He remained in a paralytic coma for two years in Gotham Hospital while his girlfriend went missing. When he was revived, Winslow discovered the skeletal remains of his girlfriend, who had been paralyzed as well, and was eaten alive by crows. He now wants revenge on Batman for not saving his girlfriend, as well as bringing all of this misery to Gotham city.
