Left completely directionless after the murder of his parents, Bruce Wayne embarks on a lengthy journey through America in order to find a purpose. During his journey, his coach gets robbed by highwaymen, and would've certainly died if not for the intervention of Harvey Dent, a former judge who was horrifically scarred by a gang after her prosecuted their leader. He then murdered them in revenge and became a justice seeking crime fighter. He then takes Bruce under his wing and teaches him how to be a crime fighter. Unfortunately, their relationship comes crumbling down when Bruce realizes that Harvey is a total nutjob. He winds up having to kill him after he tries to kill a gang leader's family. Horrified that he'd just killed someone, Bruce wandered in to the distance, not caring whether he lived or died. He was then taken in by a tribe of Native Americans, who taught him the ways of stealth and hand-to-hand combat. After spending a couple years with them, Bruce leaves to forge his own destiny. He then moves to Gotham City, a seaside town ravaged by crime and gang violence. Using his newly found skills, Bruce begins to fight crime under the moniker "The Black Bat". He then makes a rivalry of The Laughing Man (a flamboyant, psychopathic gang leader who loves Violence & Art) and the town's corrupt mayor, Oswald Cobblepot.
