Zachary Edward Snyder (born March 1, 1966) is an American filmmaker. He made his feature film debut in 2004 with Dawn of the Dead, a remake of the 1978 horror film of the same name. Since then, he has directed or produced a number of comic book and superhero films, including 300 (2006) and Watchmen (2009), as well as the Superman film that started the DC Extended Universe, Man of Steel (2013), and its follow-ups, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017), the latter of which had a director's cut released in 2021. He also directed the animated film Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010), the psychological action film Sucker Punch (2011), the zombie heist film Army of the Dead (2021), and the two-part space opera films Rebel Moon (2023) and Rebel Moon—Part Two: The Scargiver (2024). In 2004, he founded the production company The Stone Quarry (formerly known as Cruel and Unusual Films) alongside his wife Deborah Snyder and producing partner Wesley Coller. After the events with Steppenwolf, Batman has been trying to take a break. He has been stopping criminals with help from DA Harvey Dent and Commissioner James Gordon. When a bomb goes off at Gotham University, Batman arrives to find a mess. Previously, zoologist Kurt Langstrom was planning to find a cure for his wife but she died recently. With plans to finish the cure, Kirk tested on himself. Unfortunately, criminal Victor Zsasz planned to bomb the school. He did but never learned Langstrom did his experiment. Langstrom fled never to be seen. Bruce with help from Alfred and Dick Grayson now Nightwing, Bruce tracks down Kirk and plans to help him. Meanwhile, the crime world has been in ruined.
