The second Batman is a high school student and a former delinquent. Under the pretense of doing errands for Bruce, Terry fights crime as the new Batman. Terry was chosen to be the new Dark Knight as he shared a similar loss as Bruce had, that being the death of a parent (although, unlike Bruce, who lost both of his parents, Terry only lost his father).
