Iago is the secondary antagonist of Disney's 1992 animated feature film Aladdin and the protagonist of the 1994 film The Return of Jafar. He is a sarcastic, loud-mouthed, and short-tempered parrot that served as Jafar's sidekick during the latter's attempt to rule Agrabah. Iago's villainous deeds were motivated by a lust for riches and power, as well as his disdain for being fed crackers by the Sultan. His role significantly expanded over the course of the franchise, the prime example being The Return of Jafar, when he reforms.
